  Hand in hand with academic growth through formal education, informal education through co-curricular activities is on very much agenda of school curriculum. Various co-curricular activities provide ample opportunities for all round development of the students personality. Singing, dancing, debates, drama, drawing & painting, glass painting, rock and mural painting, rangoli, decoration of house display - boards, Christmas tree decoration & calligraphy are organized to develop the aesthetic abilities of the child.

Celebration of days of National / International importance : World Elders day, World Heart Day, World AIDS Day, Hindi pakhwara, Sadbhawna Diwas and National Science Days are celebrated. various activities like easy writing, speech delivering, poster making competition and skits were organized on these occasions.

VARIOUS CLUBS /PROGRAMMES 

To encourage/create general awareness, an inquiring mind and team spirit among the students, various clubs have been formed in which the children and teachers participate actively.

ECO CLUB:

· The school eco club not only strives a sense of understanding of clean and healthy environment but also stresses the need to save and preserve it.

· To provide an aesthetically appealing environment.

· Health Awareness Programme

· To create awareness amongst students & neighboring areas towards using eco –friendly things e.g. use of paper bags, saying no to crackers, minimizing wastage of water, minimizing of pollution & use of herbal colours on Holi.

· Plantation of trees.

· To develop garden of medicinal plants.

· To conduct test under Green Olympiad.

· Effect of depth on the seed germination.

· Effect of Tobacco Smoking / tobacco chewing on the health of a person.

· Study of dominant and recursive traits in human population and many more.

UNESCO CLUB :

· To make the children aware of various agencies of UNESCO.

· To organize G.K. tests.

ADVENTURE CLUB :

Students are encouraged to participate in adventure activities like mountaineering, Rock

climbing, Trekking, Para-sailing, Kayaking etc.

ASTRONOMY CLUB:

· Visits to Nehru planetarium

· Sky gazing at night.

· Study of constellations.

· Study of comets .

PROGRAMMES:-

LIFE SKILL:

      Life skills education has become a part of our curriculum to map possible routes and to enable young people to identify their potential and make them socially aware and responsible citizens. Self exploration, character development, learning languages, development of positive attitude, tolerance, maintenance of a clean environment, development of problem solving skills and an understanding of social issues are some of the issues highlighted.

NIE&PACE:

      With the intent of keeping the children abreast of the current affairs and to imbibe the reading habit in the students, they are offered to choose the Times of India under NIE scheme or the Hindustan Time under PACE. It is imperative that the students become aware if the latest trends, different career avenues open to them. In addition, the children are also given a platform to express themselves in the form of articles and poems.

HRIDAYSHAN:

     At school level, Regional level and National level Science exhibition are organized. Health related activities in association with HRIDAY SHAN (Health Related   Information Dissemination Among youth –Student Health Action Network) are taken up in the Vidyalaya.

Health Awareness Programmes:

      Lectures are being organized on general hygiene during the morning assembly. Dr. M. Iyyer delivered a talk on HIV-AIDS. Programme on HIV Aids and Sex Education by Edu serve Consultants from Aug 1, 2007 from Class VIII-XII. NEAP Workshops for students of Class VIII to XII are conducted by trained teachers whenever possible. Lectures on health awareness by Doctors from Area Head Quarters /AIIMS are arranged regularly . I –Annual Medical Check-up is conducted to maintain healthy minds in healthy bodies. Progressive health records of students are maintained for three consecutive years.

Social awareness programs:

   The nation is built in the classrooms. Social awareness programs like ‘Ban Domestic Child

Labour', 'Save Water Resources', 'Energy conservation' are conducted in the school. The students are a powerful resource to change the mindset of the community around them

SPICMACAY: 

With an aim to bridge the cultural gap and revive the Indian heritage and cultural, SPIC MACAY Programmes are organized under Virasat in the Vidyalaya from time to time. The Vidyalaya hosted the SPIC MACAY on December 3 & 4 , 2007. A scintillating Manipuri dance performance by Guru Singhajit Singh and Mrs. Charu Sija Mathur was performed for the students of the First Shift. The chief guest of the occasion was Mr. S.S. Rawat, Principal KV, Andrews Ganj. The highlight of the event was the Martial Art Dance by the accompanying artists

On December 4 , Prof. Namwar Singh, the noted Hindi Critic and Writer addressed the students of the second shift. He presented an excellent talk on Indian-Heritage, Language and Cultural.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING:
